Looking to do a few mods to my 15 RGS installing a full exhaust from V&H "Pro Pipe 2-1, also installing a stage 1 air cleaner kit and keeping my stock air cleaner look. Was informed by my mechanic that getting a dyno would be better than using the Fuel Pak FP3. But of course that dyno isn't cheap~ Fuel Pak cost me around $290 compared to $450+ for a dyno/tune.
I will be replacing my stock cams later down the line, considering using an Andrews 57H cam, but that's later after I ride the bike for this summer.
If you are looking for numbers and a dyno chart for the day you ran it, a dyno tune is going to give you real data and numbers, and possibly more output. However, everyone that I have read about that actually got their FP3 working properly, and has had the stage 1 intake and aftermarket exhaust, really like the FP3. Some people have given up on the FP3, because they spent too much time messing with it, instead of just riding it.
I have a 15RGS as well and I also went with the V&H pro pipe. I was pretty much in the same situation as you the dealer was trying to get me to go the screaming eagle tuner/ Dyno route. I did some research and crunched some numbers and decided to go with a complete V&H stage 1 upgrade.
Ceramic Pro pipe, Naked VO2 air intake kit, FP3 tuner.
Worked like a charm and haven't had any issues with it. I have other bikes that are more performance orientated. I just wanted something that was simple & easy. I bought everything online and @ a discount so the money I saved from the exhaust and intake alone paid for the FP3 tuner!!!

So whats the word w this fuel pak? Thanks guys~
Whether you tune it yourself or have it dyno tuned you will need an EFI tuning product either way, the best advice i can give is to choose the product that you (or the person doing the tuning) feels most comfortable tuning with, using a product that has the capabilities to support your current and future mods, and using the product you can get the best support on. A willingness to learn is also very helpful

Yes indeed, hard to make decisions when the delear is trying to cash in on your own hard earned money. It's bad enough that you buy a Harley and they're already making a deal then they try to sucker you in for even more money and bs sales talk.
I almost bought into it when I wanted to get a few accessories, etc ended buying all of my HD products online and saved myself almost $1,300!!!! That's a LOT OF DOUGH to save if you know what I mean... I would of spent $1,300+ buying it my local HD stearlership!

Oh trust me that won't be me, I rather ride than waste my time... Especially when my RGS is new and barely I've driven 200 miles, not even broken in...
FP3 is a great product. Didn't find it hard to use at all. Plug and play.
For the person wanting their bike to be optimized with a basic stage 1 it's the way to go...IMO.
Assuming your tuner knows what they are doing, and MANY don't, you will get more out of the bike. Question is it it worth to you for the incremental optimization above and beyond the FP3. Only you can answer that.
The FP3 is one of the best products to come down the road in years. I've modified many Harley's and usually ended up doing the Super Tuner and dyno route. I've started using the FP3 recently on several builds and am quite happy with the results on lightly modified bikes. One plus now is that V&H has added cam choices with the FP3. If you are planning on building a track monster, it's probably not for you but up to that point very effective. It also does have an auto-tune function if you feel the need to fine tune an issue.
