To be clear I think the FP3 is a really good product and works really well for its intended usage, Fuel Moto sells them and we have many satisfied customers that use them. V&H is a great company for sure. As far as the product itself FP3 has many of the same tables as other similar flash tuners, however where things are different are the peripherals and base maps that are available for more extensive modifications. The fact that they have included cam support in the product is really cool and shows they are looking to improve the products abilities, however this is still very different than having base maps developed for these components. I'm sure now that they have released V&H cams and other components it should only get better. The other consideration is that V&H has the maps locked down within the app and their server. FP3 maps cannot be shared, emailed between individuals or shops. For example if a tuning shop developed a map for a specific combination they are not able to save or share it, this really makes tuning support difficult outside of V&H.

In the end if you have engine modifications V&H sets up several parameters in the tune, most importantly intake valve open/intake valve close events (IVO/IVC). The FP3 then relys heavily on the Auto Tune feature for for VE correction using the factory narrowband sensors which have their own limitations (regardless of tuning product). The amount of tuning one will need to do comes down the combination you are working with, the overall accuracy of the base map, and the resources you have for tuning.

I believe V&H themselves says it best on the Fuelpak FP3 website http://fuelpak.vanceandhines.com/faq.html

From the V&H FP3 faq's: <b>"Can I AutoTune any setup?</b>

Answer: There are limitations to AutoTune capabilities. AutoTune has the capability of tuning in nearly any exhaust and intake combination as well as fuel type on a stock engine. However,<b> for modified motors with radical/high lift cams, it will not be able to tune.</b>"

Does it support Andrews 57H cams?

As a matter of fact my bike is at Manatee Harley awaiting a new ECM replacement. Which does mean that I would have to get a new Fuelpak3 as it is married to the vin number in the ECM.

However, yesterday I called Vance and Hines to see if the situation has come up before.
I spoke to Cheyne and he told me to just send in my current Fuelpak3 and they would be happy to replace it and that they did not want to leave me hanging with buying another one.

So keep this in mind that any business that wants to help out these days should be considered.

Also Brian at Fuel Moto where I bought it back in December of 2014 said before you spend money on a new one to call Vance and Hines and see if there is something that can be done. So Brian could have made another sale. So I would highly recommend buying through Fuel Moto. I remember they spent some time on the phone with me when I bought from them helping me to understand the pros and cons of the products they sell.
Actually I have been in touch with Jamie from Fuelmoto, through email and he has recommended a power vision tuner instead of the FP3 if I am planning on using cams later down the line. I contact V&H through email to see what they say. So far Jamie has been great~

Their response was that the FP3 can indeed do cam and big bore mods just like all other tuners out there.

Best to talk to the folks whose name in on the box I guess.
Correct, that's why I contacted V&H directly~ But either way, Jamie has been a standup guy and sure know's a bit or two about bike builds.. Plus the guy is right next to me in Wisc

The product has the ability to support this cam, however I would specifically ask if they have actually tested this cam. That is two very different things.
