Hi have now a 12,5 inches ape hanger on my Night Train, with 2 inches Sportster's risers. I mounted it last october and didn't rode a lot since. I'm already thinking not to change the ape, becaus of the wiring that is inside, but to change the risers for 4 inches !!
Its the solid rims and stock front fender on a fatboy that turns me off on apehangers on a fatty. Would love them myself but just dont care for the looks on a fatboy.
Well maybe I will go for some 12.5 Wild One apes; being a little lower, they may look better on my bike. I also can use the adaptor plate I had to buyto convert the 1" center section of the bars so that I didn't have to buy a new riser.
I got a set of 1" predrilled for the wiringthrough Custom Chrome. Much narrowerat the base and they V out more than the chubbys. Only fifty bucks! Don't get me wrong I love the chubbys, but not the look I was going for on my bike. I agree they look better on a FL front end.
I will post a picture but it will have to be in a few days (unless I can get my wife to take one and send it), as I am in Germany till Friday. TRobb I am still here since I sent you the message last July or August.
Mine are the 16's. the 13's are right at the edge of the faring. My thing was If I'm gonna do apes I'm gonna DO APES. no sense in goin small and wanting big later. I could have down sized like boats easier after going big was my feeling. Plus its different.
