Default Need Help with a Warrenty Issue

Hi Everyone, I bought a 08 FatBoy late last fall and only got 100 miles on it before the snow hit, So now that spring is near I thought I would clean it up for the season, I was cleaning the wheels, (they still had the protectant on them from the factory and I found that the rear wheel has casting pits in it, See pic, They are not that big of a deal but when you pay full list for it you expect it to be "Nice" when you get it anyway.
So I called the dealer and explained the deal to him, The dealer is 60 miles away from me, so he said send him a picture, so i sent the one posted, He called today and said that being I accepted the pre-delivery inspection that I was stuck with it being that way, Wow, I guess I never have had to get on my hands and knees and inspect every inch of a new bike before I wrote the check!
Has anyone used Harleys complaint line before? Anything I should try or know? Thanks

THAT'S BS! Keep calling or going in, bitch if front of customers if needed. They will get tried of you and give you a new wheel. It doesn't cost them much if anything. Remember the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Welcome to HD land. Just ride and forget spending $$$ on extended warranties. These scoots run for miles and miles without any serious problems, other than normal wear and tear. Find a local wrench to fix your bike....

look closer next time. if that's how you bought it, that's how you should keep it. most of the dealers I've seen or even heard of are run by ********, but that inspection is your chance to complain about flaws. I don't think this is really a warranty issue.

Hard to say how thin the aluminum is in that poorly casted area, Maybe a safety issue?
I have been a auto tech and now a shop owner for 25 + years, I have the tools and work on my own bikes as i enjoy doing something different, I have never seen as poor of warrenty then what harley offers to customers, This is my 3rd Harley, 7th bike, I love the bike but the Moco sucks as far as backing their products and customer service, I have seen people buy foriegn cars and trucks for the same reason now the american companys are hurting, Harley needs to be careful.

not the same issue but I had a sissy bar that the chrome at the weld joints failed and rusted within a couple of months. the dealer did say that moco does not normally warrant chrome but with very little persistence they replaced it under warranty .... I just think it is the dealer's attitude that makes all the difference... push them harder, or find another dealer who wants your business.

no , not at all. it wasn't rusty at time of fit. it was IMO poor metal prep before chroming which lead to it flaking off within a few months at the weld joints.I do live onthecoast ( salt corrosion is a problem ) and the dealer new that. the point I was trying to make is that the good dealers will go the extra round with moco to try and get a result for their clients.

That's what I was getting at. Your sissy bar wasn't rusty when you bought it; his back wheel was pitted when he bought it. ehh, it doesn't matter, really.
