Just got this 05' NT and the kick-stand seems strange. The bike only has a couple hundred miles on it. Unless it's totally flat where it's parked, or the bike is going slightly uphill, the kick-stand goes back a few inches. I'm hearing it's normal, it's just strange to me.... My VMAX just locked and that was that. This one seems to move and/or adjust?
the kickstand locks when there's weight on it, but the locked position has some play, hence it can move a bit, but it cannot go back up, so your bike won't fall over.
so, it's normal, and don't worry about it, if it really bothers you, park the bike in gear and roll the bike until it stops before putting the stand down.
if you look at the stand closely while it's down, you should be able to see how it works.
this also means riding with your kickstand down can be really really bad if you hit it, because it will lock and not just go up, and probably be really painful.
thanks for the info. Yep, I can see in your pic your bike stand leans just like mine~! Too funny.
Man, these bikes are a blast to ride, and plenty quick enough off the line as well. [8D]
Yeah, I'm likin' that kick-stand of yours. Never seen one like that.
I'll look into it. Just NOT comfortable with the wobble every time i put down my stand. Even if everyone says it's okay, it makes me nervous!! [8D]
