I need some help on getting a good travel bag. I am a casual rider and looking for a good bag for overnight from time to time and also something that can accomodate my laptop to ride to work. I have an 05 Standard with a removable sissy bar and Sundowner seat. I saw one of the T-bags at my local dealership but the opening wasn't big enough to get my computer into. I also want to stay away from a travel rack. Most of my riding is one up so I plan on having the bag sit on the seat. Any recommendations would be helpful.

I have the Universal Lone Star by T-Bags. I love it. I also have the Baja for smaller trips. If you go to T-Bags website, they have a laptop bag there for you to check out.
I was originally going with the T-Bags but I now believe I am going with this one from Kuryakyn. I did a lot of checking online and it has the highest cubic inches that I have found. I also am going to put it on the passenger portion of my Sundowner and use it as a backrest. http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=harley&ci=3522
Have you considered a backpack? I use one for lunch box, magazines(i.e contraban for the night shift), extra closes, food containers, you name it when I work or errunds around town. Then when I go out of town I put on sissybar with rack, rear seat, and bags.
We have SAC bags and like them. They are well made, and guaranteed for life. My wife had a set of T-Bags for he old Lowrider, but they wouldn't fit the backrest on her Heritage so she sold them and got SAC when she got the new bike.
The T-Bags are great bags also, well made and guaranteed for life, but the day bag in the SAC set was larger than the T-Bag, and would hold a sleeping bag.
I just got this set up for $85.00 including shipping form motorcycle accessories warehouse
Part of what I liked about this set-up is that is is 2 pieces... I can use the size bag I need for the trip, or use both at the same time.... it was received from the time I ordered in 3 days....
Heres the link for the bag
