Wanting to extend my forward controls. HD catalog has two different setups.
49223-08 Black, 49171-08 Chrome they say for 07 and later.
49163-91 claims to be for 87-99 year models. Does anyone know if the one for the 87-99 models will work on the new softails. I know what is says in the catalog, but is this just a way for them to sell the new style for more money. Or is there really a difference in the way they hook up. I am trying not to spend more $ than I have to.
Check out XO Products. They have 2" extended forward controls. They are one of the best set of controls for the price. I have a set on my bike along with a few other people I know. Best bang for the buck! LOL
The 07 an 08bikes have different forward controls to earlier models. Ness make 3" ext as well but make sure you get the 07 on ext set as the earlier one does not work. They look simalar as I had them on my 03 deuce as well but the brake line and rear brake switch mount is different. 07 on have changed the foot peg position and the foot pegs now stick out further than before. I also believe it has to do with the new Primary case design on 07 up bikes and earlier f/contrls may not line up on this side as the case seems wider with the 96ci motor I use to grind the bottom of the brake lever now I grind the foot peg. I have pics of the 3" ext in the softail custom pic area if U want to look at them.
