Default Fatboy Headlight question

I thought about replacing my 03 Fatboy headlight with a brighter bulb. Bought the Sylvania Silverstar H4 bulb. Took the headlamp ring off and discovered a Sylvania sealed headlight. Not anyway to replace the bulb. Is this a stock setup? I haven't seen anything in the forums concerning headlight options except H4 bulb types. Just wondering, do I need to look at sealed headlights for options?

Unless it's different, my 03 Fatboy has a headlight, there is no way to just change the bulb. All the Silverstar crap is just that, crap.I bought one of Harley's dual bulb headlights on E-Bay fo $60. Best money I've ever spent. You can put brighter bulbs in if you want and they are really about 3 times the light.

yep, sealed beam. I could have bought a Silverstar for $25 but not sure if that would give anymore light. The Sylvania Halogen in there now is so dim, it's like a cheap flashlight with weak batteries.

I had done the same thing and just purchased a new bulb housing. Found a cheaper one on Ebay for about $30 before I spent the big bucks on one of the other replacement housings. Just look at any of the replacement 7" headlights.

part number 67907-96B. $130 in catalog, watch E-Bay and they go for about $60. If you have the fancy nachelle the part number is different. Go up one wattage on bulbs and the difference is unbelievable. You are right about the weak flashlight they come with, I never felt safe. I'm still not a fan of night riding but this is the best add on I've put on.

seems like the best place to start. does this kit have a lens? Or is it just a reflector and bulb? Thanks Anubisss.

Anyone know when they went from sealed beam, to bulbs? It would appear the 02's & 03's have sealed beams, while the '05 has a bulb. I have an '04, so I'm in the middle. Any '04 owners out there that have done a headlight upgrade? I'm not looking at doing this at the moment, but could come in handy in the future.
