I'd like to eliminate the frontbullet turn signals hanging off the handle bars on my '02 Fatboy... just don't like the looks of 'em.
Looking at the H-D mirrors w/ LED signals - to my eye theylook nicer than the other brands out there, but they aren't cheap @ $300. Before I invest in them, just wondering if anyone could give me some input on 'em. How were they to install / any issues with function ordurability / recommend something else?
As always, thanks in advance!!
Rando
I think they look great and was tempted to get a set, but was never able to figure out where or how to hide the wires for them. So I elected to just relocate the stockers to the fork legs and covered the wires with mesh to make them look a little nicer.
Here's a before and after look at the wires.
And another out at the turn signal itself. I use a piece of shrink tubing to finish off the end and keep it from fraying.
Sorry the pic isn't better, but I think you get the idea.
Friend of mine just added the turn signal mirrors to his Rocker so he could get rid of the bullets. It's a clean install. I'll look next time I see him to see how he routed them. I think he just cut/spliced the bullet signal wiring that was already in place. So no new wires to run and nothing sticking out.
I asked about those at the dealer and was told that they arenât legal here in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia, so I mounted them on the forks instead.
