I just installed Kuryakyn's fuel gauge in my 07 Fatboy, I have to calibrate it to empty. When I removed stock fuel gauge it read that I had about a 1/4 tank of fuel left. What would bea good way of knowing when I'm near empty, and how much fuel should be left in tank before calibration?
I never trust the gauge and use one of the trip meters. When it gets near 150 miles I start looking for a gas station.
But if you want to calibrate it to real empty you can do it easy enough by opening the gas cap and use a screwdriver or something to push the float down to the bottom. The float is just in front of and to the left of the opening with its arm running from the middle of the tank past the left of the opening. If the tank is less than half full you should be able to see it in there with a flashlight.
BTW Nice looking Fatty, I have the same pipes and round AC on my Custom. Did you also get the round horn cover, I put one on and it compliments the AC niceley.
