Im running the 2in Rush slip ons on my softail standard 07 Im going to order the v&h shortshots ,do you think this setup is going to be louder then the slip ons ??? has anyone ever done this before [going from Rush slip ons to the shortshots ????
I have V&H Big Shots Stag on my Fatboy, and they are loud. The Shortshots are even louder, a little raspier. I think you will be almost 2x from your slipon's. Also, anyone riding next to you will go deaf after an hour... I almost put the shortshots on mine though, they are real sweet pipes....but they are loud...my 2cents....good luck
went from stock to shortshots staggered. they are kinda loud, but not too bad unless you're jumpin on the throttle. also read that if you add the quiet baffles, it will knock down the sound by about 1/3 and deepen the tone a bit. i've heard the rush slipons and they seem to have a deeper rumble with less volume.
I had some slip-ons on my Sportster (yeah not exactly the same bike I know) before switching to short shots on it. The short shots were EASILY twice as loud. My buddy would not even ride next to me if he did not have to they were that much louder.
I have the SS staggered on my Crossbones. I'm very happy with them. They havean awsome rumble to them idling and cruising down the street. At highway speeds, they sound great as well. When I really get on the throttle hard, they sound off nicely in my opinion, but any aftermarket exhaust will be quite a bit louder when you get on it hard. V&H....you can't go wrong. good luck man
I went from Screamin Eagle slipons to my Shortshots, and they are a lot louder and much better sound. although they are quieter than my wifes Kawa vn800 with Rask dragpipes on.
I would recommend them, I think they look and sound fantastic.
I have the short shots on my 07 night train,my dad has the rush slip ons (2" or 2 1/4") on his 06 fatboy, and my brother has the big shots on his 06 heritage. My short shots are louder than the rush pipes but I think there about the same as the big shots. They sound a little different than the big shots but if there louder its not by very much.
