Don't take windshield advice from anyone who doesn't ride the same style bike as you and isn't the same height as you. I have an 06 standard and I'm 6" 1". I hate to say how much money I've wasted trying to find a windshield that actually works. Ifthe windshieldisn't at least three inches ABOVE my eye level there isso much breakover turbulance that it vibrates my head enough to blur my vision. Adding lowers will help the updraft problem but they doNOT stop the breakover turbulance. The breakover turbulance occures directly behind the top of the windshield. Tilting it forward can help some; the farther behind the top of the shield you are the less the turbulance.
I have a winsheild on my 07 nighttrain and it is the flamed HD detachable and i must say i hate the look of a windsheild on my train but it is nice when the bugs are real bad and there is a gravel truck infront of you but the second i'am of the highway it comes off.Since i have a 80km drive one way to work I don't give a @#$% what people think it looks like it saves me from the rocks and the bugs and after getting my cheack split open by a rock and almost dumping my bikedoing 115kms an hour having a windsheild makes sense to me
