Only good for when you're parked. By the time you're in position for someone to see them, your already right in front of them. Either to close to make a difference or to far away to matter. I never even thought about taking them off. When I read this thread I had to check to see if I even had any.
Just curious... why are you asking, anyway? Who care what other riders have done? It's your bike, do as you please and if someone else doesn't like it, screw em! Be your own man, dude! That's what riding is all about.
i never got em!! hey i think i got riped off! now i`ll have to buy some to put on my garbage cans.lol but on my last bike i did have one that i got from the dollor store it was one of those little red hands but i cut 3 of the fingers off(you no wich ones) and put it on my plate
Not true... I can see reflectors anywhere within the range of my headlights. I think most people take them off because they don't look "cool". Too many folks worry about their image than safety. That's one reason why so many novice riders get unjured or killed. Most of us old timers have outgrown that vanity. Personally, I'd rather be uncool than dead.

well, actually it has nothing to do with being "my own man" i thought that the idea of this web site was to make conversation, get opinions, ask ?'s. why else are we here? other than show off pic's
I would have to vote : Take them off for aesthetics and if you are caught out riding after dark and are concerned about being seen then simply keep a reflective vest stuffed in your pocket, bag or wherever and make sure it is big enough to fit over any jacket you might be wearing.
A vest will be seen a lot better than any reflectors on your bike.
