Default gotta go aweek w/o the bones

well i am already doin more mods. will post the pics when i get the thing home next week

the weather is beautiful this week, i just know that its gonna rain til december once i get her back.

i have decided to change my pipes to a set of D&D fatcats in black..(on the recomendation of DOC1, who told me it is a much better matched exhaust to my engine build), plus they look cool too
will have black rocker boxes, cam cover, top and side trans covers, to accent the other side which already has the black outter primary.
i am also having them powdercoat wrinkle black the skull timing cover.

i cant wait to see it. i am sure it will look a little different.

the dealer is also doing real right by me. they are switching out my pipes and only charging me the difference in cost, which is about $80. and i am getting the labor at actual time, not flat rate, and only paying 10% over cost for the other parts. this is all because of an issue i am having with my passenger pegs being uneven. the dealer is really stepping up to help me. i would recommend their store (ft lauderdale Harley davidson) any time. they are standing behind their word, and i didnt even have to bring up the survey. i am a completely satisfied customer.

I am stuck at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX until May 16th. All I can do is look at pics of my bike until then. At least when I get back I will have my apes and cables waiting for me to install!

I got them powdercoated gloss black. I also have chrome billet 4" risers with hidden bolts. I plan on alternating black and chrome. I am going to get the chrome switch housings with black anodized levers. I also ordered the Black Pearl cables and brake line.

SE, but I liked your Big Radius 2-1 pipes. Is the replacement pipes a 2-1 or 2-2 style. I was in Texas today and visited a dealership here and was surprised how much they wanted for a XBones...$24K which is $7K more than I paid, but they had added a sissybar and passenger pillion, different mirrors and some pipes. I had them crank up some of the softails to hear the different exhausts. The Rineharts twisted pipes and the Sampson black Sinister Rips both sounded real good and would look good on the XBones. Keep us posted and add pictures when you get them. Jerry

Thanks man, Pipes are more impressive than I could have hoped. I went off the advice of others at this site and I am not disappointed. A Deep Growl is what I was after without sounding too obnoxious that the old timer next door would go into a epileptic fit shaking his fist in the air and repeating the phrase those damn kids and there loud pipes..
