I have a tank for a 02 deuce but dont know if it came from a carburated or an injected model and am wondering if they are the same and interchangeable?
The injected tanks have a hole in the center under the speedo housing for the fuel pump and fuel level sensor. The carb tanks have the fuel level sensor under the gause gauge, or at least this was how it was on my fatboy. My bike is carbed and I bought tins from an 06 (which are all the same at that time minus the fuel valve.) and had to get the plate to block off the hole under the speedo. Hope this helps.
I have a 05 springer classic carbureted and I bought a paint set on ebay that was for a injected model and it fit fine everything was the same it had the big hole on top for the fuel gage and the fuel pump, and the petcock on the bottom of tank
Check the manual on the Duece tank...I believe both carb and FI are the same on that...Both had a hole in the middle..At least according to my 03 Manual...
All other softails were different...FI, had a big freakin hole between the caps for the fule sending unit, the carb did not.
