Default Winding Noise riding 2up

I have a 96 Springer Softail that is lowered about 2 inchs in the rear. I rode 2up for the first time the other day with it. And for some reason when I ride 2up, it begins to make a high pitched winding noise. It sounds like its might be coming from the primary somewhere. Could it be too much tension on the belt from the second rider? Not gonna lie, I did bottom out a few times while riding 2up, so im thinking that might be it. I am planning on lifting it in abouta week, as soon as I get around to it. Im hoping this will solve the problem

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for all their help!

Default RE: Winding Noise riding 2up

My bet is the extra weight is sagging the bike just enough beyond where it sits with just you on it that the top of your drive belt is rubbing on the inner primary. The ribs on the belt make a high pitched sound like that. When I put the 422's on my FXSTi, I could lower it enough to cause this. Don't know what shocks you are using, but to fix this, she either has to be raised some or increase your pre load, ( or you could trade for a lighter bitch!).
