I just had my bike reinspected the other day and the dealer put it on an inspection plate by my belt gaurd.

my dealer put my inspection plate on.he said the 1 he put on is legal because the screw that holds plate to downtube is covered by sticker,so if its tampered with it can be seen.

I can't imagine that being enforced unless you were doing something really reckless and then the gloves come off and you get as many strokes as possible.

Approximately 3" x 3". The same size as the inspection sticker for cars.

Evidently all of you are respectful, law-abiding citizens who have no hesitation to proudly and prominently display your up-to-date inspection stickers. For me, the fact that my unintentionally expired sticker is buried and hidden on the downtube has saved me from harassment and/or a ticket on more then one occasion.

Mine's been on a plate between the footboard mount and front crash bar for 21 years now. Never been a problem. Got stopped ONCE by the state troopers a couple of years back because the stickers were grey and blended in with the plate (and the fork leg, too, for that matter). The trooper saw I had a sticker, we talked bikes for about five minutes, then he let me go.
