The 6-speed in the new Dynas's has A 1 to 1 6th gear (no overdrive).
If you are looking for an overdrive look at Baker or JIMS or even RevTech.
True, but HD reduced the gearing in the primary from 1.44 to 1.36, so the effect is the same. 6th gear is a direct drive, so the path the energy takes to get to the wheel is much shorter than if they'd used a true overdrive. This reduces friction and wear points when you are running down the highway. They also changed the final drive gearing. It all adds up to a ratio of 2.96 in 6th gear, compared to a ratio of 3.05 on the 5-speed. Gives you about 300 rpms less at 70mph.
Any feedback on the Harley 6spd vs the Baker DD6 kit? I'm just doing some initial research. The DD6 is a 1:1 6th, but increases the primary ratio to lower RPM from 3398 to 2917 at 75MPH per their website.
