Wouldn't it be sweet if they put the fob electronics inside a watch, especially if they could work a pop out key.

BTW in my pocket with keys, dont trust belt loops, too easy to rip off.

good on ya steve nice to see family stand together and nice to hear a man speak his mind when he has one the rocker will live on and on thats the end of the story they are so hot over here you need oven gloves to ride them ..!!

Sorry, I just can't resist this. I don't like bashing people, because it's a free country and you can't ride however you want. Seriously though, calling it a stupid ignition because your buddy was too stupid to lock his ignition (which can easily be done on his 03)...... well now he knows that people in the 21st century tend to steal things worth a lot of money, especially easy targets like bikes with unlocked ignitions. If you hide the fob somewhere on the bike, and you still lock the forks and ignition like most pre-security guys and gals do, then hey, you'll probably be just fine.

One more poke and I'm done......If they discontinue the rocker (I didn't even knowit had that ignitino setup), are you gonna go metric?

rockerheadsteve,

you have a nice bike there!
I like the Rocker a lot, but don'tthink that they won't discontinue the Rocker, we thought the same thingabout the Deuce...[&o]

yes, the rocker is hot... RIGHT NOW, but just wait a few years, that could all change. I'm not saying that it will, but it could....

and 1of2's ignition IS in the right place, it's EXACTLY where HD put it.

you basically bashed other peoples model bike by saying: "Our rockers dont have the ignorant ignition most harleys have, where you can pull the key out and still turn the ignition switch on and start the bike with out the key. How stupid."

that was a very opinionated statement.
not that I care, butyou insulted me as well, because my CVO springer has that ignition also.

I just happen to like my style ignition, I think that it's ugly as hell having your keys dangling from the bike while you're riding, but that's just my opinion.

ride safe out there!

And why would you not lock your ignition? The fob is on the key ring and the key ring is with me.
Our rockers dont have the ignorant ignition most harleys have, where you can pull the key out and still turn the ignition switch on and start the bike with out the key. How stupid. The rockers key will not pull out of the ignition in the on position. Its LOCKED when you pull the key out. Simple. I know several owners that dont even remember where their keys are. On a rocker if you dont know where your key is, you aint going for a ride.
Bluzmn59, The question for me is why bother locking the ignition? It is disabled with the security system anyhow. It seems like a waste of time locking it

rockerheadsteve, I think it was a great idea of Harley to have an ignition that you don't have to stick a key in every time you want to use it. The fob disables it when you are not on the bike so now we don't have to bother with a key all the time. The alarm system eliminates the need for a key but it still has the ability of being locked if someone wants that extra peace of mind. To me that seems a lot smarter than it does ignorant. Now, before you call me names or call my comment worthless please remember this is my opinion and worth just as much as yours is.
A friend of mine was able to unlock three other Fatboys using his key....

Hey DB, Thanks first off. Second I hope they do discontinue the rocker. The less I see, the more I like mine. Thirdly, If you feel Ive bashed everyones bike for cutting down an ignition swich, I dont know what to say. I dont feel the need to apologize. Fourthly Opinionated statements come from opinionated people. And I'm very opinionated, if you cant tell. lol. And if I wasnt so modest I'd tell you how humble I am. LOL.

no need to to apologize to anyone!
It's just the way you said it, that's all.

by saying it the way you did, you put down the way other peoples bikes are made, sosome peoplecould get insulted by it.
my bike is made that way and it didn't bother me, but like I said, I can see how some people can be insulted by the comment.

and I'm opinionated myself! LOL

I know it sounds like a stupid question and it would defeat the purpose of sticking it to the bike somewhere, but I never lock the iginition so have no need for the key usually and my memory sucks when it comes to keys and fobs.

Thanks

I Never Lock My Bike Either So No Need For The Keys Or Fob ,
If I Can't See My Bike Then I Went Way To Far From It, And At Hooters I Can See It Just Fine
So No Lock For Me

It's not a good idea to store the fob near the bike. It will keep communicating with the bike like women at the backyard fence and your battery won't last as long.
