RE: Where is everyone putting there Security Fobs?
ORIGINAL: rockerheadsteve
ORIGINAL: RACKnRAIL
I can't believe you're asking this. I mean, doesn't everyone keep theirs on a key ring?
I have mine on a key ring that clips ona quality climbers carabiner with the rest of my keys. It stays on my belt loop with me at all times.
+1 for the rocker owners, Our bikes wont start with out the key. I cant think of a logical explanation, to why anyone would not leave their fob on the ring with the key? It eliminates all problems, unless you like leaving your key in the ignition. And that would be stupid.
+2 for all non rocker owners with the buttonless FOB. THe bike will not start with out it, No need to push a button to deactivate it either and we need no key to start it. just mount and roll!!!
But ofcourse Steve would'nt know this, He has a Rocker...................
RE: Where is everyone putting there Security Fobs?
We must remember that there are different types of security FOB's. There are some with a button like the regular car alarms. Then there are buttonless FOBs that have the smart siren security. I dont like having a crap load of keys danglin from the ignition, Ive seen cases where the key will fall out from side mounted ignitions or simply turn off when u hit a bump. and it will also scratch the crap out of the risers if its mounted on top. Yes ofcourse u wont see this happen on a new bike but u wait a few years and you'll see. all that weigh of those keys will loosen it up.
I love walking up to my bike turning the ignition to the right, flipping the fuel pump on, hitting the start button and hearing it roar. Specially right after all my friends tried to start it and couldn't. cause the FOB was ten feet away with me on my belt loop.
It makes for a qick take off if ur in a hurry and it looks way cooler than getting ur lil key out and stickin it in the ignition, turning it to start and begin to take off when u realize u leftyour walletat the house. So u turn the bike around, quickly dismount ur scoot run to the door and as u reach for ur keys u remember they are in ur scoots ignition.....Blah!!!!What a waste of time.
If someone really wants to steal ur bike. They will Steal it!!! Locked or not!!!
I ussually never lock my bike and the FOB is always in my belt loop secured by a quality climbers carabiner with the rest of my keys. It stays on my belt loop with me at all times. Like RackandRail said!!!
Blackdenimbiker, you are truly a fool. My Rocker does the same exact thing. Only you cant start it without the key. I have the same flippen fob you have. Now what say you? Mr. now nothing. And back up a few years when they had the same ignition as yours, only without the fob. Hop right on your bike and take off. Go get on a thread thats speaking about something you know about, my freind.
