Is anyone running a dragonfly detachable fairing on a fatboy? I've got drag bars on mine and love the idea of being able to crank out some massive tunes going do the road. Just wanted to see if anyone has one and how they like it. And once you put it on, is there really any point in taking it off???
I have been thinking about a fairing for my bike too, but I think I still would want to remove it for around town. I like the look with out a windshield or fairing.
I put the Dragonfly on my FLSTC down in Myrtle Beach and love it. It is by far the best of the ones out there. They will color match your paint as long as it is standard factory Harley. The stereo is a marine Kenwood(water resistant). I have the sirius installed as well. The front of the unit has a USB thumb drive and I just got a 16gb thumb drive to pop in it. That's like 100s of tunes. Coming out of Washington DC Sunday at 80 mph sounded like I was sitting at home. It sounds good at speed without earplugs, but it sounds awesome when you wear earplugs asthey get rid of the windnoise.
It uses the stock windshield mounts, but reuires two spacers and longer bolts (which are supplied) and the wiring harness they use is identical to a 4 prong trailer harness. It comes off and is on the table in about 2 minutes. My only regret is not buying one sooner.
Check my picturesin the footnote.
