Default Detachable fairing questions

I am in the market for a fairing for my '96 Road King and as I'm looking through all the different brands I wonder why there is such a big difference in price. I can see that the ones that include the stereo and speakers are the more costly ones. I don't really care about a stereo but can someone tell me maybe which one are considered better quality ones - which ones I should stay away from? Do some come slighty smaller or larger then others? I want it for colder weather riding so I want the most deflection of wind that I can get. thanks

Here is a thread on the Memphis Shades. Answered every question I had before buying mine, and then some.

Default fairing

I have a detachable fairing from Kenny Day Products on my '96 Road King. Last I knew they were in the Custom Chrome catalog. I like mine quite a bit (bought it used). At the time I didn't know about the Memphis Shades units.

Have had my Memphis Shades fairing on my RK for over a year now. No complaints, it works great. If you don't need the stereo, it's the way to go. Got it for about $370 from Phat Performance including fairing, mounting bracket, lowers, and windshield. Not much more than a Harley windshield.

I put a Kuryakyn fairing on my '04 RKC last year. It works well for the wind. I have the radio which could have better sound quality and a volume control related to speed. It looks good and has a nice storage compartment.

I just bought a Dead Center fairing (used) from a member here on the forums for less than half of what they cost new. I love it and the tunes are great.
