I've just ordered an '08 Deluxe Vivid Black with the smoothie rims. I'm looking at the H-D saddlebags and I'm thinking they are too small but I like the design and the way the basket weave leather matches the seat. Are there any other full size saddlebags out there that retain the H-D basket weave design? Thanks!
yes. buy a baggertail from cyclevisions.com and you could put any roadking or streetglide bag on it. brackets are like $300 and bags are like $900 from dealer but you could always find some on ebay or craigslist.
Congrats! The Deluxes are a really classy ride. I've got the HD bags and yes, they are pricey and somewhat small, but do look the best on the bike IMHO. Enjoy!
Go check out http://www.hogdeluxe.com, and search on this forum for hogdeluxe. This guy made saddelbags specially for the Deluxe. Real, real nice stuff. He dosn;t have pics of saddlebags on the website yet. But, there are plenty of pics on this forum. I just talked to his wife about the bibs, and toolbag. He just hasn;t had a chance to get the pics of the saddelbags on the website yet. Really nice people. Puts HD bags to shame, and probably some others. And , US made and custom built!!
good luck on your scoot. My buddy just picked his up last week. I traded my Deuce for an 07' last year. GReat bike, and can do alot with it, as you can see with Mike NY and nikonf8, and manyu others on this site...
I put on the 34 Boss Bags, and like 'em. Work with the stock pipes that I was not ready to replace. Easily removable in seconds. Basketweave about matches. Real close. Till I replace the pipes, these are the biggest I can use. Got 'em on EBAY for about half price of new.
I have the Boss Bags also. Very nice bags but as said before, they are expensive. As with most things, you get what you pay for. Now that I swapped out pipes I'd like to have larger ones though.
