I piled on a few miles more than normal this weekend and came to the exciting conclusion that the stock seat provided on the Deluxe is pretty darn uncomfortable. After searching this thread for a couple of hours last night, I see that the consensus is that the stock seat is no less than crap. Okay, I can accept that even though after plunking down hard earned cash to get the bike in the first place, I now must plunk down more hard earned cash to the same people to get a seat that is worth sitting on.
I didn't see a whole lot of talk about the Mustang solo seat with regards to comfort, especially on longer rides. I see that Mustang offers the solo replacement seat for the deluxe, but it dosen't look all that comfortable.
The stock Deluxe seat isnt that bad IMO , compared to many of the other seats on HDs. Its a pretty wide seat with some support, have you got many miles in ?

If you have given it a chance look into Corbin, Mustang or C &\\; C. I have had great luck with C &\\; C for my bike and type of riding (150 -200 day)
i have an 07 deluxe and have heard how bad the seat is,but i've put on500 miles in one day and 2000 mis in 6days and my a$$ never hurt some people set to far back on it and end up sitting on the the back, but highway pegs help too gets some of the weight off the seat, you can also check out mean city cycles,i had a lowrider seat redoneby them,so there are options, heard mustang are pretty comfy ,solo \\; touring w/backrest,but pricey.good luck o helping your back side out[sm=biker.gif]
i really like the corbin i bought. after a little break in time, it feels great... i did 110 miles the other day in 90 degree heat on our crappy new england roads and i was never uncomfortable.
I think one of the methods HD uses to get the Deluxe to be so low is to not put in much support and padding in the seat. Too bad you couldn't put a Heritage seat on it. There are a bunch for sale on Ebay.

One of the first mods on my 07 Deluxe was a Wide Mustang Vintage with rider's backrest. It's much more comfortable than the stock seat and the backrest is great for those with sore backs. But it will move you up almost an inch. I've had Mustang seats on other bikes so it was an easy choice. I also think this seat doesn't look too bad on a Deluxe.
