+1...fishing line to cut the tape, a little adhesive remover to clean up, and you never know they were there. \\;

 \\; Is the fishing line used to separate the tape from the tank? You just run it \\;between the tank and the tape and have someone pull the embelm off as you separate the two.....the line won't scratch the surface.

So you want to remove the old HD logo from your tank? If so let me know how you make out, as I'm looking to do the same. Not sure how WD-40 will panatrate the clear coat on the tank...

Dental floss, wd 40 and a hair dryer worked well for me on the tank emblems and the reflectors.

The new emblems from HD have the tape on them. You can also buy 3m double sided tape for this application at any good auto body and paint supply store.
