I currently have the hooker fourbidden exhaust on my nighttrain. \\;Hooker dosent make heat shield for it, and i dont want to wrap the pipes, \\;and if im on a parade ride, or sitting at a light for to long the pipes get painfully hot (the heat comming off of them feels like im sitting on an oven burner), and they \\;heat up the air cleaner to the point that it burns the hair off my leg through my jeans. \\;These pipes make big power and sound awesome! and i want to change the exhaust, but i dont want to loose any power (preferably gain power). \\;Ive been looking at the Vance and \\;Hines Black \\;Sideshots (with the power chamber). Does anyone know how much \\;of a power gain you can get from these? also any other recamendations of \\;powerful exhaust systems (preferably in Black).
Thanks for your help
You are not likely going to get an increase in power with the V&\\;H. 2 into 1 will get you more with Thunder Header and D&\\;D leading the way. I believe you can get T Headers in black.
i've been told the v&\\;h black pipes are doing poorly on the dyno. been told that people are buying them for the sound/looks. i don't blame em becaues they do sound and look great, but if your wanting performance the 2 into 1 v&\\;h pro pipe all the way..
I have the V&\\;H Pro Pipe and love it....don't recall the exact figures off hand but had a very nice increase in power which was confirmed on the dyno after installing Pro Pipe and jet kit. \\; Other option I just read about was having pipes coated...Jet-Hot Coating is the name of the company....just read about them in a recent issue of Hot Bike. \\; Didn't know they were doing bike exhaust but I had a set of headers coated for my Mustang and heat was significantly reduced. \\;
I love my Bassani Road Rage, plus I haven't seen anyone else with it yet. The sound is VERY comparable to a Thunderheader in my opinion.
If you wanna keep your fourbidden try getting them jet-coated. Thats supposed to knock the heat way down.
