I am thinking of wrapping my pipes. \\; I was wondering what is the best wrap to use and what everyones experience has been with wrapping pipes. \\; \\;I would like to see some pics of wrapped pipes, especially on trains!
I wrapped the pipes on my cross bones. It is easier if you remove the pipe, I did mine with the pipe on because I am an idiot. I used the pipe clamps off of my heat shields to clamp the heat wrap instead of the flimsy ties that come with the kit. Wear gloves when you wrap the pipes, again I did not because I am an idiot. My hands were black for the rest of the day. You can get the wraps at any auto parts store. I also tucked the ends of the heat wrap after I cut it to clean it up a bit. hope this helps.
