Was hoping someone could clue me in on what might be a problem with my new Heritage i have 800 miles on it just purchased in May. I notice there is moisture from condensation inside the Speedometer glass. \\; Occurs when i am rolling and engine is hot. \\; So condensation sound right. Dealer says it is normal not covered by warranty This sound right to you folks? \\; Thoughts on whether I should follow up to the dealer or let it go. \\;
yep some of them do it as far as warranty with 800 miles i might make him fix it put a new one on not all speedos do it but some do but brand new bike make him fix it thats ridiculous
I would send a letter to Harley Mo Co and maybe call them and when they give the OK it will get replaced. maybe ask for just the part and install it your self if they say no.
I have an 05 Heritage and it does the exact thing. Especially after I wash it. The condensation bothered me at first but my bike has been mechanically awesome. So if that is the worst thing then oh well.
have same problem w/ 07 heritage.spoke w/ moco and in harleys infinite wisdom they have decided it is not a warranty item since the speedo is not a sealed unit.they will only replace if the whole speedo fogs up and you cant see #'s or if the glass gets stained permanently.
Both our 2006 Heritage and 2007 Dyna Low Rider's have condensation \\;inside the dials. \\;We dont have a garage, so we store them inside a trailer. The amount of heat from the pipes and engine after a day of riding really makes for a toastie enviroment once it's all closed up......then as the day cools and \\;at night the temps up here drop into \\;the 40's. We notice it the next morning when we roll them out. \\; After a half hour or so, it tends to \\;goes away. \\;
