H/D has a LED sissy bar running/brake light that \\;installs to the \\;rear of the sissy bar. \\; Q. has anyone installed this and is it worth the money? \\;
I'll be doing something like that on my project. I have a radianz LED stop/run strip from a previous project. I think I'm going to weld a mount onto the top of my rear fender (laying flat). In the run position it scrolls back and forth (really gets your attention), in the brake position it really lights up! I'll be using my turn signal for tail lights.
I installed the H-D sissy bar brake / running light kit on my '10 Heritage 2 months ago. The idea to install these came after a friend was rear ended on his bike by some cager with the usual "didn't see him" excuse.
The look is custom - almost hidden until you hit the brakes. Then it lights up nice and bright and closer to eye level of the driver behind you. It definitely makes your bike more noticeable.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if the LED brake lights were even brighter. Anything to help get the attention of the tailgating cager before it's too late.
