I've been lingering in the Softail section, but I've spent most of my time in Touring. \\; I'm really considering a 2nd bike, and I'm in love with the look of the Cross Bones. \\; Haven't ridden one, but one of my sons loves it too. \\; I thought if I got one, he'd have a bike to ride with me when he comes to visit. \\; Can't get rid of my King, but strongly considering going with the Bones. \\; Thoughts? \\; Advise, Counsel? I've read many of the posts on the Cross Bones, and it all seems favorable with the exception of the bars slipping on the risers. \\; Should be able to fix that easy enough. \\; Would appreciate you Softail riders guidance on this one. \\; Thanks, CCRyder
I'm 63 and own a Xbones and love it. \\; I've had it since the end of \\;April and put about 2000 miles on it. \\; The only thing I didn't like about it was the rear kick down lever, which came off after 22 miles while on the road. \\; I got my pant leg caught up in it, so it's gone. \\; I've put removable bags on it and have the removable p-seat and sissy bar. \\; I did install a V&\\;H Fuel Pak and a big sucker A/C. \\; I love the springer and the seat. \\; Handling is very good and braking is great. \\; Absolutely no problems with the bike. \\; 47 mpg ain't bad either. \\; HP is good and it just runs great with lots of power.

I think you would be very happy with the Xbones.
Not much else I can say about the crossbones to a guy that rides a Harley[8D]. Swing your leg over one for a test ride on demo day.
I'm a bettn man= When the son comes to town after you bought it, he'll be riding the RK[sm=signs003.gif]. \\;

Bigbones
Do it!!! All I had to read was the part where you would ride with you son. I would love to be able to ride with my dad(If he wasn't a dead beat a hole). I can't wait till my boy turns 16 so I can go out and get bigger bike and turn my deluxe over to the boy. Gonna keep the Deluxe and have the Ultra for the wife and I to cruse long distance on. Your boy will think you are the best dad ever.
Thanks to all! \\; Great input. \\; Talking about riding with family really gets me going. \\; My boys are into the Ducati thing now, and they think I've got a Geezer Glide. \\; But I love riding with em. \\; Last weekend I was on ride with some of the boys over to OR, ID, WA, and back to MT. \\; While out, I get a call from two of my sons (I have three boys, and 1 girl) and they said "Hey Dad, pack your bags, we've got plane tickets, reserved seats, hotel reservations, and a rental car for the MOTO GP races in Indianapolis, IN. in Sept. \\; Man, was I jacked. \\; That college tuition is finallyl starting to pay off. \\; Nothing like family! \\; Whether they're related or not, if you know what I mean....
The XBones as a second bike is a great idea. \\; As you can see that I have the Ultra for the long haul rides and the XBones for the local rides to the mountains, to the store, just wherever. \\; I am 59 and love the XBones. \\; Everywhere I stop, people comes over to check it out and ask all about it. \\; Seems like just there are not many of them out there, they just attract attention. \\; Handling is great, but the wife can't stand the little pillion and even smaller backrest for more than maybe a 25 mile ride to eat or somthing....but I have the Ultra for riding her on the back. \\; My son also now rides with me some...him on the XBones and myself on the Ultra. \\; It is nice to have another bike that you can enjoy sharing with you sons. \\; Just go for it if you can afford it. \\; You won't be sorry. \\; Jerry
Yes, those are the HD Cross Bones bags. \\; They are just the right size for day trips. Plenty of room for a leather jacket, couple pairs of gloves, rainsuit, and maps. \\; My setup is great, except for pipes right now. \\; Just about to pull the trigger on different ones to get that Harley sound back instead of the sewing machine. \\; Jerry
If I get one, I'm going with black exhaust headers and mufflers, just havent decided who. \\; I think that black would really finish that bike out. \\; JMHO, CCRyder
