Hi All,
 \\;
Not sure how happy I am with the aftermarket wheels I put on my 07 Fatboy.... thinking of polishing or chroming the original ones... \\; Does anybody know anywhere that is GOOD in Australia... and do you recommend polishing over chroming or vice versa?

Dean
I have tried mine on the ebay exchange program. The chrome will chip off. What type of wheels do you have and did you need to cut new spacers?
By the way if you polish them they will go dull in no time.
Chrome is better than polishing IMO. \\; You will always be working to keep the polished wheels looking good. \\; Like many things in life the key in chroming is prep. \\; Find a good shop and you will have good results for years to come. \\; By the way, I like the look of your bike with those rims.

Thanks for that... yeah I kinda like them better than standard but not sure if they are the look I was going for. They were about my 5th choice actually.... all the ones I wanted had been discontinued. Have seen a few sets I like more on other 07 fatboys since... but they may have been custom jobs.... I guess I will get the bike painted and then see how I feel about the wheels... am thinking of a dark candy apple green for the paint (metallic) with airbrused artwork of somekind....
Just think the flat dish type wheels may be more traditional a look and go better with the paint job I intend to get (when chromed or polished).

Dean
ORIGINAL: back again
what's wrong with the one's on there now Dean? They look way better than the stockers too me. Bike's looking killer as is.
Hey Vertigo, how ya been??!! Seems like only yesterday we had both just got our 07's and had just started with the bits... Yours is looking great now by the way, hardly recognised it! LOVE the pipes and I have been tempted several times to swap mine for a set in stock the same of yours ... your wheels look great too... the whole bike has come together great! Hope you're doing a lot more riding than me... I got back with my ex from 9 years ago and we now have a baby on the way so I haven't been doing that much riding of late... certainly intend to do a bunch come some again (late November on).
Hope all is well with you and great to hear from you!!
Regards,
Dean
PS: As for the wheels, maybe I'm just going through a phase... all the money I used to spend on my bike has been going on Cots, prams and baby seats lately... so maybe I just feel the need to spend some money on myself again while I still have the chance
ORIGINAL: vertigo14
I like your wheels now, dmac.
I too have a set of take offs but I wouldn't put em back on.
Hey Vertigo (or anybody)...
 \\;
Do you know of anybody on here who has put the 2" extenstion kit on a set of forward controls similar to ours? I put a new seat on and it has moved me forward and would like a more stretched out riding position.... wondering if you knew of anybody....

Cheers dude,
