Anybody have knowledge of the Baker trans? I hear Baker makes the best trans around.

I'm just wondering which is going to be the better Trans. Screaming Eagle 6 speed v.s. Baker 6 speed. I'm assuming the Baker, but I have no personal knowledge to base that on.
I've had both. No comparison...Baker is superior.

Same as the stock 5 speed but putting it in 6th would have a drop in RPM right?
If you install the OD6 you would get a drop in cruising RPMs.

Baker makes great boxes..no doubt..... there F6F, (factory six fix), is the best deal around or fixing the late model HD 6gear tranny...... I went with the S&amp\\;S 6 speed tranny on my '03 tail and it is the bomb..... shifts oh so just slightly smoother than the Baker DD6, ( at least the 3 that I have ridden), shifts much more "precise" with heavy throttle clutchless upshifts a piece of cake..... AND cruising RPMs in 6th are lower so 70-75 is vibrationless.... worth every penny!

When you install a DD, the countershaft sprocket on the engine needs to be larger. This is where the rpm drop in 6 comes from, even though it is 1:1. Everything I read says that the DD is far superior to the OD and when the trans in my Softail finally goes, it'll be Baker going in.
