Need some help on my '87 Heritage. When I turn the ignition to "on" the tailight comes on, but the headlight does not, it only comes on when you click over to headlight. Is this correct? Also, where can I get a wiring schematic and owners manual for this bike?

YES, that is correct! During the mid eighties, there was a jumper wire on the inside of the switch. If you turned on the iggy to ON or HEADLIGHT, it would come on.. Many many many of us..... cut the damned jumper wire....
