RE: Is Heritage Softail Classic and Fatboy basically same bike?
Rode both and they felt the \\;same to me. \\; Picked up a Fatboy at a good price, and the fellow threw in bags, sissybar, and windscreen...all removable but I have them when needed.
RE: Is Heritage Softail Classic and Fatboy basically same bike?
Thats what Im gonna do! Get me a fatty and then plut some bags and sissy on it I really dig that big back wheel and the heritage's fender is a tad bit retro for my tastes. Thanks for the info guys! My mind is made up and Nov can't get here soon enough! [] \\;

Can you get yourself to one of the open houses at the factory assembly plants? \\; The dates are listed in the HD website. They bring in a \\; trailer full of bikesthey came by Doc's HD in Kirkwood last year and broke out an entire line of bikes. They have the same offerings at the open houses. \\; That way you can talk turkey, test drive whatever you wish, and talk to owners of both bikes who come to see the hoopla.
When you test drive you have to register. \\; They form up a formation of test-riders behind two roadcaptains and head out. \\; So you won't be able to dump the gears and wind it up on the freeway. \\; But they do travel over a variety of roads to give a good idea of the feel of the bike you are test driving.
Hey, it may be the only way to actually throw a leg over!

I road them both and could not tell a difference in the ride but the steering was different due to the handlebars. I change my front tire to a 150 80 and the entire ride changed. it was for the better, handles better and rides smoother. That back tire is tough. i just found a 6 penny nail in it.
