I want to replace the Fork Oil in my Softail Classic and need to know what to expect when pulling those caps off. I have read some post's that say there is alot of spring pressure to get them back on and others that say there is none.
Has someone got a FLSTC they have done this to?
I used to do it on MY Wide Glide and that was easy but the forks are differant on the softail so I am not sure.
I do have a lift and the front wheel will be off the ground.
As woodyheritage stated, get the front wheel oof the ground and, though there will be some pressure, it's easily managed during both disassembly and reassembly.
Thanks Guys I just did it. As a matter of fact the caps came right off and there was no pressure at all. Drained Fluid put in new Synthectic and put caps back on. Piece of cake.
