Default Turn signal relocation

I have a 06 FXSTI and want to relocate the turn signals to the fork with the kit from HD. I bought the kit, but have to remove the tank to access the signal wires. I ain't an idiot, but with the service manual I have and attempting tank removal, and half way through I said screw it. It would be much easier to cut/splice the signal wires to complete the job. Here's my question.....is it as nasty of a job as I think it is just to remove the tank? Or.....am I being lazy?

I ran into same thing relocating my signals from handlebars to below passing lamps.&nbsp\\; From info I got on forum some of guys said you could just loosen the tank and get to connector on right side of tank.&nbsp\\; It was a pain but I was able to do it and extract pins from old signals and insert new signal wires without splicing.

I did neither, I relocated my turn signals from the mini apes down to the front forks and tied off the wires behind the headlight, I will be changing the apes to drag bars at some point over the winter and&nbsp\\;when I take off the tank I'll redirect the signal wires at the time.

+1...there's enough wire to take the signals down to the forks...I zipped 'em up behind the headlight then re-routed the wires&nbsp\\;last winter when I went to drags
