Default Clear coat experts?

Just&nbsp\\;finished doing some body work on my HSC and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions when applying the clear coat on how to get it to best&nbsp\\; blend with the original clear coat?
Thanks!

im not sure what you mean about blending, your not trying to only paint part of a panel are you. the blends will show back up if you do eventually. its best to clear the entire tank, fender, saddle bag, whatever.

&nbsp\\;you HAVE to clear coat an entire panel with proper film thickness to have UV protection or it will chalk on you.&nbsp\\;I shoot for a build of 4 mil min. to be safe.

I guess I should clarify\\;
I got a small scratch&nbsp\\; (it was down to the metal) so I was only working a small section rather than trying to do a whole fender. So now I'm ready to put on the clear coat.
Thanks, GEESE

&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;You SHOULD clear coat the full fender. If you only spray part of it, the clear at the outside edges of the blended area of your repair won't have the proper film (mil) thickness and will show up as a hazy chalky area over time from UV damage. Do yourself a favor and clear the complete fender.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I worked with insurance companies for collision damage on vehicles, and as cheap as they are about paying to have paint work done they&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;DID pay to have complete panels cleared because they knew what problems would develop and come back to haunt them.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;You will also get a much nicer looking repair and it's only minimal additional work&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;to do it correctly.
