Recently bought a 5 year old FAT BOY. The rear wheel has been a little neglected. I am having a hard time working out the pitting and grime. Any suggestions other than replace the wheel?
Wal-Mart has this ball on a stick that you put in a drill to shine up the paint. It looks like it would work on these pebbled wheels, but I haven't bought one yet. Kinda pricey.
Go to any auto parts store and buy a can of NEVR-DULL. This product has been on the market for a very long time.
It is moist rope inside the small can that you tear-off two or three inches at a time. Rub the "pad" on the wheels and watch the pad turn black. Let the wheel dry and then use paper towels and keep rubbing off the haze. The paper towels will be black too.
Rinse, repeat. Maybe a few times each. Over time your pitting will melt away and leave a beautiful shine.
This isn't an "instant" product, but it is cheap and time-proven to deal with some real messes I've seen over the years.
Directions are on the can. Do this each week for a couple of weeks as you research alternatives (if needed).
