Greetings From Taiwan!
So, the government sees the stats on road-kill, gets oodles of complaints from other drivers about these bikes weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds, and summarily decides that all bikes cannot use the freeways.
But... there are miles and miles of spectacular roads throughout Taiwan that make it all worthwhile. I have a Harley, and I don't plan on going anywhere in a hurry with it, so the freeway restriction doesn't really make a big difference to me.
The doohicky in front of the left forward control is a chopstick holder... actually I have no idea but will find out next time I am in the shop. As for different EPA configurations, the shop says they replace the stock pipes with aftermarket and make no changes whatsoever. With an air upgrade, they either do a stage one download, or install a SERT.
A side note, a Harley store in my home town in Canada said to stay away from SERT, PC, Fuel Pak, etc. They said in their experience, if I change my pipes and air, to simply get a stage one download and that is good enough... 'cept get a 103ci stage one download to compensate for a richer fuel delivery... Any comments?
Oh, I am also doing this simply for sound. Gotta let people know I am not a scooter (drivers wipe out scooters with impunity here!), and nothing says that better than a loud exhaust!
It came on the Japanese market in 1998 and was discontinued in 2003. It was Honda's answer to the V-Max, but was never exported outside of Japan save for a few private imports to Europe. It has a 1300cc engine, and is a torque monster. Almost impossible to hold onto when accelerating. But, the fuel capacity is limited to about 115km, the riding position uncomfortable and the pillion a sad joke.
Should have bought a Harley to begin with, I have seen the light!
