Hey, I'm always willing to help.........look for the little thing sticking out of the engine that says "oil" on it.
Now you can be a "true driver".
See, if you just reach out, you'll always have someone to help you on this forum

p.s. sorry can't help out with the real biker thing, I'm not qualified........come to think of it I don't really want to be a real biker; I'm content with my RUB status.

The simple fact is, here we are sitting in front of a computer screen judging what a true biker should be. If that is not ironic I don't kwow what is.

real bikers are all of us who have had bikes and the passion to drive anything on 2 wheels regardless of make or size. True bikers wave to all bikers be it harley, sportbikes, scooters, etc... wannabes are people who are in it just for the image or because its a fad thing and will be outta of it before you even know it. I can also tell true bikers because they always wave to me on my sportbike where as newer riders "posers" with the brand new cruisers and new gear will never wave or even acknowledge ...weird..???

The dirtbags on the outside of a Harley? Sorry couldn't resist my dad told me that joke.

Im 23 just bought my first street bike this year (Rocker) saw it and was in love with it. I've never owned a motorcycle but I've always wanted one. I don't know much about them but I can figure it out with enough time. I also collect harley shirts from every dealership me and my wife goto.

All I know is that riding is something we both enjoy doing together and we always have a blast no matter where we go on it. As far as a real biker / weekend warrior goes ? I would probably ride it everyday all day long but like some here have stated , we have jobs and families to take care of. I don't care what anyone thinks about my brand new leather jacket and my brand new bike. I would rather lose a finger then give up the rocker.

What am I ?

I'm confused..... I don't live to ride or ride to live. I ride to work every day that the air temp is above freezing (about 48 miles round trip), but try to avoid rainy days (the wet roads are just too dangerous with cages) although I do get caught in the weather from time to time. I ride to the grocery store, grandkids baseball and football games and most family outings. I ride every chance I get. I wear fire/flash proof blue jeans and fire/flash proof dark blue long sleeve shirts because my job requires is. I wear Red Wing Motorcycle boots with steel toes (because my job requires the steel toes). When I'm not wearing work gear, I wear regular blue jeans, any 1 of about 20 different Harley Tee shirts and H-D branded motorcycle boots. I have 3 leather jackets, 3 nylon jackets (one Harley branded, 1 Budweiser branded) and one with my company's brand. I have 2 winter coats and 2 sets of chaps and one suit for suitable occasions. I have H-D branded motorcycle gloves, H-D branded rain-proof gauntlet gloves and 1 pair of no-name gauntlet gloves. I always wear my helmet and respect those who choose not to. I don't have any tattoos but I respect those who have them. At one time, I didn't know enough about tools or bikes to begin working on them. I have evolved. I wrench my bike. I do all routine maintenance as well as all modifications (intake, exhaust, injection, clutch, primary drive line, belts, electrical and bling-bling). I read all I can about my bike to better understand the workings (I know there are 2 definitions for tranny). I respect all riders regardless of their brand or style of bikes. I've seen guys on 400cc bikes dressed the part of a hard nose biker. I'm not going to judge them about their status in the motorcycle world. Riding a 400cc import does not mean they are posers or bikers. At the end of the day, we are all riders. I don't terrorize the neighborhood with my semi-loud pipes. I don't use illegal substances (any more). I respect the road and all who share it, but I do get frustrated with bad drivers. I support our armed forces and the job their doing. I pay my taxes and donate to worthy charities. I don't know any secret handshakes or belong to any clubs except H.O.G. I began riding at 14 and I am now 58 years old. I have been married to and faithful to the same beautiful woman for 37 years. I have two jeeps, a pickup truck and 8.5 grandchildren. Where does this leave me? Am I a biker, a rider, a poser, an old fart who enjoys life and riding?

Please forgive the long post. I'm not being trying to be a smart a$$. I just think the range of riders/bikers is too wide for one size fits all.

I don't wave to anybody. I don't care what they're riding. Does that make me a poser?
