Well, I ride to work everyday, so I'm not a weekend warrior. I never liked that term. I was active duty Army for 24 years until I retired in 05, and I never did like calling our National Guardsmen that becasue I served with many a good one during my time. Maybe frequent or infrequent rider applies more?
Just my opinion,
Ride a bike?
Then you are a biker....
Perhaps the question all along should be " why are there so many cars on the road?" when you can get THERE on a bike, have a good time on a bike, and live without a vehicle other than a bike.
My .02. Where I live there are way too many SUVs. What makes for a real SUVer? going 4 wheelin?
not trying to stir things up that was the old thread.....just hate it when guys buy $30 k bikes and don't know their way around it
I dont know, I have Softail NT but im not a mechanic...I have a car and cant fix it myself either.
I ride it as much as I can and if its nice out, to and from work in my dress pants/polo s/dress shirts. I have tattoos and serve my country does that make me cooler or a better? I dont think so.
There is no reason to get all uptight first of all. Secondly, if i want to start a post on real bikers or poser i will and if you don't like it don't respond of even read it for that matter. I even poked fun at myself earlier in the post and stated i didn't come with the intension to have people get so rude, but so be it everyone is tough miles away. Maybe i should understand that you can play a role and don't have to be totally engulfed in the whole thing. working in a max prison...one thing you learn is first impressions are everything and people reguardless who they are size you up on that first impression good-bad or indifferent.
lastly.....i converse with mc club bikers all day at work and i can tell you this they are not just what you may call "REAL BIKERS" yes they made mistakes but they also do alot for their community that goes unnoticed and they stand for the a word that all of us associate with FREEDOM and that has a price.
You are a moron. You should stay in that prison and not come out. How's that for a first impression?
Let's see...I've been riding since I was about 9 years old, have had about a dozen or more bikes, and don't ride a $30K Harley on the weekends. I pretty well know how to work on most anything I ride. I must be a REAL biker!!
Now for the punch line: I'VE NEVER HAD A HARLEY! Did I burst your bubble? I currently ride a Honda, and like it, by the way. I do plan on trying to buy a Harley softail next year, if all goes well. I'll probably ride it about as much as I've ridden any of my bikes. Will it matter that it's a Harley, and not something else? If I ride the wheels off of my Honda, but barely ride my Harley, which one will make me more of a "real" biker?
What do you think the big difference is between true bikers and weekend warriors who just want to look the role.....I know alot of guys who have deep pockets but don't know dick about their scoots...duh..what's a tranny....wearing a harley t-shirt does not give you the right to be a true biker.
So.... who the heck pulled your string Barbie? Little PMS or sumthin'?
What I get from your post is that you just want to be around 'guys' that know dick. Or maybe 'guys' who know what a "tranny" is.
people, people, people, I got turned on to this forum by a friend who said it might be a good source of information. I've been lurking for a while and figured this would be a good time to register and reply. I've been riding for over forty years and ridden bikes made in most countries. Finally bought a Harley a few years ago and I love it. In fact I upgraded in June from a 1200C to a Cross Bones. To see a thread like this just baffles me. Biker or not, wrong clothes, too much Harley gear, not enough Harley gear, etc, etc, etc.
The simple fact is, here we are sitting in front of a computer screen judging what a true biker should be. If that is not ironic I don't kwow what is.
