I'll have to agree on the facts that 2-1 are not the most pretty pipe, the fact is YES, they increase the ride's performance (they did on mine) the thunderheaders may not look the look, but they sound awesome and perform even better, no rusting problems, fitted perfectly and since got heat-shields from day one I don evn know if blueing is a issue but then again, blueing in most good quality exhausts is a tunning issue.
I'm running the Bassani Road Rage on my heritage. Great sounding pipe. Kind of a unique sound. What I like is if you want to keep it toned down riding through your neighborhood you can but when you get on it they roar plenty enough for me. At cruising speed they are not too hard on my ears. One of the best torque 2 into 1 pipes made (no dip). Would highly recommend.
If I changed to a 2 into 1 it would either be the D&D Fat Cat, with quiet baffle which gives it a bit lower/deeper sound or the Samson Caliber, 2 into 1. Samson puts out good sounding exhausts.
I have Samson II, Rip Saws that I consider annoyingly loud, but aside from the volume they do sound good.

Mimo Nice scoot amigo! Sounds great! Last year at las vegas bikerfest I ran into a couple of guys from the H.O.G. chapter of Guadalajara. I'm wondering if maybe it was you or a couple of your buds?
Yeah, the only thing holding me back on the D&D is I like the looks of my pipes better. I am planning a big bore kit so I may do that first and then if I feel the D&D is necessary then add it afterwards. I am not looking for huge numbers, just more low end and mid range grunt.
Really, best thing to do is go to local bike nights, rallys, popular watering holes, or harley dealers on busy saturday mornings and sample different pipes first hand with your own ears.
I have found this to be the best way. Bikers are more than happy to give you an ear full of V-twin. Just ask tell them youre contemplating pipes and ask them to fire it up.
