I found the same thing from my dealer...and it's not cheap. I took out the rubber and replaced with nylon bushings....no more shake.

While it may seem like a good thing to get attention for cages, with the attitude of many drivers here in Memphis, I figured it wouldn'y be long before I was shot for "flashing" my hi beam at the wrong person.

This puts the rubber in a bind and will cause it to fail. the bolt does not go all the way through. They are studs molded into each end.

I tried many different isolators from grainer and others. Trouble is finding the right deminsions to allow the headlight to go back in the bucket. After about the 5th or 6th one i said F### it and homebrewed it.

If you have one laying around, could you give me the dimensions, and I'll find the part# and supplier for this isolator. The dia, length of the isolator section and thread dia and lengths is all I need.
Several people mentioned they tightened them up. The only way this can be done is to twist the snot out of them, and they will break eventually. Having a cheap solution for replacement would be much better than getting reamed for the whole braket assembly at HD. At least for the ones that want to keep the shake.

Default Call it in to HD as well, guys

Don't forget to call in the issue to customer service, gents. The way HD engineering gets involved is by hearing from a bunch of riders. My complaint, on it's own, won't get a solution, or a recall. I know we do this all the time, but should we really have to field engineer a solution for a messy design? Tell 'em it sucks!! They listen when we all shout loudly!! I've heard from a dozen riders that have tried fudging something together, only to have it break later.

I used a suggestion I found on here right after I bought mine. I replaced the front rubbers only with a plastic / nylon spacer I picked up from Lowes. I put a thin rubber washer on both ends of the spacers. I just cut the spacers with a hack saw to the length I measured from the old spacers. Worked like a charm. There was some concern on here that stiffening this up would shorten bulb like. I have not had any bulb problems.

When I put the chrome headlight extension on, the bouncing was twice as bad. This idea fixed me right up.
