A moments inattention left me lying in the road with my leg trapped under the Cross Bones and surrounded by anxious French motorists and feeling very grateful for my kevlar lined jeans and my armoured jacket. I was very hot today and I had thought of wearing something lighter but I'm very glad I didn't.
I was riding in traffic and the car in front stopped at a traffic light I didn't see.
The front brake locked and I slid into the back of a thankfully clapped out Renault 4 breaking a rear light. The bike went over and trapped my leg until a couple of hearty lads lifted it off.
No broken bones but a sore leg with a fair sized gash from the bike sliding on top of it and lots of wounded pride.
and of course gratitude that nothing hit me while I was on the ground.
Cost me 100 to pay the injured party and purely cosmetic damage to the bike
I got to try out the Cross Bones with the bars moved right back. Interesting.
Just pushed them back up but not the full way and it is definatelt an improvement for counter steering on cornering
Always look on the bright side......................
How do like that forn brake on the springers by now you think they would have a 4-piston caliper glad to see your alright how do you like those kevlar jeans I would like to get some of those to go with my chaps.
I am glad you decided to wear the gear today... my friends always make fun of me for always wearing my gear....
When I hear a story like yours I know that I'm doing the right thing...
I've got mirrors and an exhaust if you need them.... you just have to pay the freight!
