i just installed chrome switch housing, levers, and all braided lines, now here is my problem.
the front brake lever does not feel the same, it feels like i have to pull it alot more than the factory setup and it is a little scary, before the upgrade i barely pulled it and it had brakes, now i have to pull it about half way before i get brakes.i used all hd parts and i did bleed the brakes several times and test rode and bled them again and it is still the same.
any help or advice on this would be great.
I just ran into the same thing when I switched to braided brake lines and 4 piston caliper in the rear. I vacuum bled and pedal pump bled the rear brake system and swore it couldn't be air. Saw a tip on here somewhere... with caliper off the rotor... figure a way to clamp down all but the furthest piston from the bleeder. Pump brake lever until the unclamped piston comes out about 1/2 - 3/4 of its travel. Hook up a hose to the bleeder to catch fluid and open bleeder and push piston back in by hand. Do this till there is no longer any air bubbles. Move to the next furthest piston from the bleeder, repeat. Continue to do this until all the pistons have been bled. I couldn't believe all the air that was trapped behind the pistons. I spend about 2 hrs. bleeding this system again.
I road today and couldn't believe the difference in the rear brake. I'll tell you what, it made my day.
Reverse bleeding is the way to go. For $20 at autozone you can get a pump with everything you need to reverse bleed. It makes it easy to bleed your brakes by yourself in a 1/4 of the time.
