This being my first HD after a few crotchrockets, I can tell you the ONE thing I couldn't WAIT to be rid of was a CHAIN. They're noisy, and they constantly fling chain lube all over your rear wheel. I absolutely LOVE hearing nothing but the motor for a change!

you need the pulley, belt and an 18"x5.5" rim that has a 2000+ hub. just saw one on ebay from american classic for about 300. i picked up a sprocket for a 2007 which is a 66 tooth but an 06 sprocket is a 70 tooth which is what the 5 speed bikes came with. Dont forget you will still have to chop your struts and figure out your fender situation so this whole thing will fit. i just got my 07 wide fender today and i'm actually getting excited about winter (garage time) a little.

yes, i am told the hd belts for the most part are the same length. you just need to know if you have the 66 tooth ('07+) or 70 tooth ('06) skinny pulley then get the belt they recommend for that pulley/trans combo. i am currently trying to find a good deal on one myself. i'll let you know. by the way: they say the new skinny belts are even stronger than the old ones because they are reinforced with carbon fiber and kevlar.
