Default Front shock on a Springer Classic......

The salesman at the dealer where I bought my Springer Classic made a recommendation... He said that if I wanted to upgrade the front shock for a better ride, I should look into the Progressive Suspension front shock.

1) Has anyone had any experience with this?

2) Any suggestions on r&r the original for the Rprogressive Suspension shock? Should the wheel be hanging loose, as though the bike were elevated, or should the bike be on the ground with the front end compressed?

Thanks for any suggestions and recommendations!

Carl

Carl, I can't comment on the ride improvement of the progressive shock on the springer but I can tell you that I've bought rear shocks from progressive for a previous bike I had. Progressive is one of the market leaders for motorcycle shocks and springs and I was very pleased with their product. Personally I am pleased with the Springer as is and have not felt the need to change anything. But like I said I have had good luck with progressive and felt they made a great improvement on my Kawa Vulcan rear suspension. Scott

I can't say I've had any complaints on the front end. I wouldn't want it any softer, since it has such a short travel. I've already hit the end of travel a few times, when hitting sharp dips in the pavement.

The rear on the other hand...
