Just an FYI - I ride almost every day, but my commute to work is less than 5 miles each way - that takes a long time to add up. If I didn't have to work every day or have family commitments, maybe I could rack up the miles to be more like you guys.

And yes, I could do the work myself, but obviously, if I don't have much time to ride, I don't have the time to do the 10k service either - that's why I negotiated the service plan with the purchase of my bike.
Speaking for myself... I wasn't being a critic of your mileage. My commute to work is 100 miles round trip... and I don't ride everyday as I work from home a lot. I do however ride almost every weekend on long trips. So I apologize to you if I sounded like I was criticizing you. Not my intent... I wish my mileage was lower. I wouldn't be needing a 10k right now.

And had I negotiated the service in my deal... would be doing the same thing as you. I would rather ride it than work on it.

Same here Smitty. There are probably 20 days a year I don't ride. But, my commute is 6 miles round trip. Plus, I have two other bikes that I ride besides my Standard. Enjoy the "new" ride.

It is amazing how you think everything feels and sounds good, and you get the service completed (either by the shop, or yourself), and the little noises are gone and everything is sooooooooo much smoother.

Mileage is all relative. I have many cars (truck) and bikes to swap around that none of them get 'normal' mileage, except my dirtbike!

Enjoy!
