Maybe you should look around a little more. i paid $13800 out the door for my 2005 Softail Standard. And it was brand new. Sure it was a "Leftover" but who cares it`s still new. I`m seeing ued bikes for just as much, or more than new ones in my area.
Schaeffer, I agree..I passed it up because I wanted a Night Train to customize and money wasn't an object for me. If I were on a budget, I would have bought this Deuce in a second.. The guy is 45, who sold his car dealership. He and his brother/partner bought them as presents to themselves.
For someone who has a certain budget, and doesn't want a Standard, this 2002 is a great buy.

The softail standard is the cheapest of the FX Softail line, the stripped model, and not in the same custom catagory as the Deuce..
It's over 3K cheaper than the Deuce.
2006 is the last year before EPA guidelines. The guidelines may be easy to beat as long as the 2007 engines don't go with any casting changes to meet EPA.
