Saw this discussion over on the Touring forum and thought it would be worthwhile over here. I've only done a few mods to the Deluxe and so far I've been happy with what's been added. Even the ever-so-popular smallish, odd-looking, over-priced harley saddlebags (I still love 'em, so there). LoL
. . . so, what is the most worthless, useless, even over priced thing you've done to your bike?
yeah, this is a good one. let's see, uhm.....the HD "live to ride" derby cover i bought from the stealer was pretty useless since i'm about to replace it with another one.
I once bought the Harley saddlebag guard bags for the RK Classic thinking they would add cargo capacity and make my GF happy because she packs for a month even if we're only going overnight. Anyway, I put them on for one ride and she hated them. They came to far forward from the original bags and rubbed on her legs the entire ride. Needless to say they came right back off after 1 ride. Gotta love -ebay though. Sold them for almost what I paid.
Last November, when the snow started to fly here, I bought a set of Rush slip-ons for my Deluxe even though I really wanted true duals. In February, without ever riding the bike with the new slip-ons, I bought the V & H duals and put them on. Sold the Rush Mufflers and instantly lost 1/2 of what I had paid. Consequently, I have a very expensive set of duals (especially when I consider the PC III and AC I did at the same time). Those Rush slip-ons sure did sound good in my garage, but turned out to be useless.
